Hello
I've been playing book1 for a while as a mage and sometimes it's very annoying to switch between spells.
When you in the "spell book" it says that you need to hold a number to assign the spell - but it never worked for me.
Can I assign hot keys to spells ? if so how do i do this ?

There's a proper order to doing this:
1. Select the spell (by mouse-clicking).
2. Select the spell casting level (by mouse-clicking) towards the bottom of the dialog box.
3. Now hold down a number key (any one from 1-0) while *at the same time* mouse-clicking the "OK" button to exit the Spell Book dialog box.
If that doesn't work, you should contact BW and let them know the details.

I've always found this a horrible interface. Is it going to be improved in book 2?

It will be similar, but I think it is greatly improved...
Now you don't have to hold a number
and press OK- just select the spell and casting level, then press the corresponding number and the spell is set. You can set all 10 presets without exiting the spell selector window, if you want.
