Map not showing on Windows user

I think I'm in a spot of trouble. Playing threw the game, I've noticed that the MiniMap on the right side of the page isn't showing. When I click on it, I get a list of settlements to jump to, but thats it. Is this a known bug, or do I have a corrupted copy or somthing?

You need the cartography skill before the map will start filling in.

From what I can tell, you really need Cartography at 3 before the minimap is really useful. Before that, ground isn't filled in, and the map looks like a bunch of dots. That's my opinion, though.
But, yeah, get the cartography skill. Really useful. Really.

There is a guy in Aridell that will teach it for a fee and a slight favor in recovering something for him. The first time you play you have to remember the map or get cartography as a starting skill.
