The inn keeper already knows my name

This is the second game I've played weret the inn keeper has my name already filled in where i should be typing Foo???mph. Any ideas?
-That innkeeper in Blackwater, yes? When you talk to him he always presents you to choose two options if you want to stay a night. -However, a third option...'Foo??mph' which you are getting at is presented when you find a slip of paper somewhere. (it automatically appears after you read the note) =)
