122 out of 130 possible.
Anyone have much luck getting higher than that point wise?

So far my highest "roller" has been Lewis the Fighter 2.5:
Str: 15
Dex: 15
End: 25
Spd: 16
Int: 12
Wis: 13
Per: 14
Con: 14
Total: 124
He's not as bright as I was hoping, but he can take a hit.

How much patience do you have to re-roll?
I usually quit when I have 13s and 14s in what I want to play and a total above 115.

I just play whenever I hit everything with double digits (before spending the points).

Lately I've been playing a mage with Strength, Endurance, Intelligence, and Perception all under 10 for the express purpose of not gaining HP and gaining the minimum possible MP gain for a mage (2 MP per Level).
As you could guess it usually takes a fair bit of re-rolling to get those four stats below 10.
I don't have access to my stats at the moment but I'll check back once I get home. However I will say that I've not been limiting my other skills, in fact I've given special focus to Dexterity and with bow weapons he's more like a ranger (Ranger minimum gain per level is 2 HP and 1 MP). Basically I've invested a decent amount in survival and meditation to compensate (didn't go for druidic axiom but atheistic for defense against curses).
It's forced me in a couple of areas to rely on my environment to defeat certain enemies, just got through Grimmhold blowing up several goblins (not the goblin warlord actually, that one I mostly lucked out on.)
Anyway before this I've played a healer with just strength and endurance under 10, so no HP gain. I managed to get destroyer with a max HP of 23. But that's not generally low stats just differently focused stats.
For the purpose of informing, I've found out that a Rogue will gain at minimum 2 HP and 0 MP per level.
I don't know what the Fighter gains at minimum per level (probably 2 HP and 0 MP,
maybe 3 HP) and The healer gains at minimum 0 HP but I'm not sure what it is for MP I have a suspicion that it's 1 MP per level, but I've already done a weak healer so I'll save that for later unless someone else is willing to find out.

Hum. I missed something how do you roll your character stats ? My stat total is 123 but I'm level 7 which suggest I didn't start out very well
Also how high does the levels go...

On the "create a new character" screen, your stats are rolled randomly. If you don't like them, you can exit and try again. I also didn't think about that the first time through, but really you can succeed perfectly fine in the game without an "optimized" character. Some people just have more fun trying to make the illusory "perfect" character than they do actually playing, I think.
And, in Book I, you can get to level 21.

My character is the hero (however reluctant) of an epic tale of survival in a harsh, unfamiliar land... of course he's going to have phenomenal stats.

Thanks! Yea I don't think I will restart at this point but I am finding most of the combat a bit difficult (it mostly reverts to my having to isolate individual bees, thugs, ... as more than one is often too difficult. I'm playing a warrior with sword/heavy armor skill and random skills in divination and thief (pick) as needed. I'm sure my skill selection has been less than optimal due to not really understanding how the impact the character. However, it has taken 13 hours of play time to reach this point in the game and I suspect with a few more levels things will even out. My two gripes with the game are that dungeons are too dark (even with cat eye and torch) and I can't adjust the gama; and graphics are not so great (probably due to playing on a 19 inch monitor - I cannot easily adjust resolution to improve the graphics - I am playing full screen on a 19inch lcd monitor - which is 1280x1024 native resolution. I could try a window I guess but that won't address the darkness issue - the monitor is fairly old (5 years?) so I suspect the backlight required for lcd monitors is starting to fade.

Press F12
Help Screen is Helpful.
Basically click on the dice to re-roll your stats.

Thanks, Unclever, but F12 doesn't work on my Mac, so I never knew about clicking the dice to reroll. I've been doing it the hard way all this time.
John, Isolating is always a good strategy in this game. Also where possible using things in the environment (like TNT barrels) or using Demon Oil to restrict your opponents' movements and do damage.

Ah, good point. Well glad I could help in any fashion.

Also this game pretty much forces you to *save-scum*
On chests and stuff..(save the game at a chest, open it,re-load if you get a crap roll)
The vast bulk of loot the game generates is...sadly ...garbage.
Also you want to get alchemy to 9 as soon as you can. There is a trainer in bordertown and skill book for it so thats 7 points for 1500-1600 gold.
That allows you to imbue your weapons and armor to +3.The game becomes so much easier once you imbue everything.
Also...Gravedigger's flame (arcane light spell)works soooo much better than cateye.I suppose you could carry a lantern though..
But once I found out about GDF I never went back .
Hang onto Ectoplasm, spidersilk, venom and mercury. They are used in imbueing equipment.Oh...one ash would be handy to tuck away somewhere safe too.
