Preorder? Release date? Winning the game?

For those of you who might have pre-ordered an app called Tubular, you might not be so welcoming to the idea of a pre-order (I know I'll never buy from that developer again...), but I was wondering if Basilisk was going to offer a preorder of Book I, or maybe even all three games so that you get each one as it comes out. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Also, I haven't heard much about a release date... any updates?

Finally, I was also wondering if there was a way to "win the game"... older games like Angband seem to just continue forever, which I kind of like. Does the game end at a certain point, or does it just keep going?

Thanks!

Hey flinch13,

Nope...no pre-orders for Book I. We have been asked this quite a few times but we don't want to take anyone's money before we have a finished game.

To help fund the development we have played around with the idea of doing t-shirts with the Basilisk logo on them, but we're unsure if they'd sell enough to recoup the setup and printing fee.

No release date for Book I has been set yet, but we are hopeful sometime this summer.

Yes, there will be an ending to the game's storyline and since the game doesn't respawn creatures you will eventually run out of secondary quests and monsters to slay. Hopefully we'll have enough content in there that you'll get lots of play time out of it before that happens.

On the news side, we are working with Planewalker Games (The Broken Hourglass) and Iron Tower Studio (Age of Decadence) on a joint discussion on our games and the indie RPG scene. That should be ready in a few weeks.

When I don't hear anything for a while, I stop by and click on the "Order" button to see if it says something other than "coming soon". No luck yet.
