Warsong/Langrisser:

Does anyone remember the Sega Genesis game Warsong? It was the first and only English translation of Japan's mega-hit series "Langrisser" to reach North America. That was some time ago, but in the here and now, I came across the following web site which seems to have translated Langrisser's sequels in the form or roms, patches and/or emulation.

Unfortunately for me, lol...I am clueless in the department of roms, patches and/or emulation, and so, I am asking anyone here who happens to be in the know, if you could check out the site and clue me in on what I must do in order to play these games.

Thanks---Rush.

Oh...Langrisser was/is an RPG/Strategy series from Japan, one well worth playing. Warsong, itself, was fun to play, but I read and heard, over the years, that sequels to the Langrisser phenomenon got better and better. I know you can download a Sega Genesis emulator and the Warsong rom from the internet, but I never tried doing it simply because I still have my Genesis, as well as my Warsong cart to go with it.

First I went here and decided to download Der Langrisser:

http://projects.elsallia.com/der-langrisser/downloads

It said:

WARNING! At the time of this release, bsnes and SNESGT are the only Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulators that have been verified as capable of playing Der Langrisser.

So I went to:

http://byuu.org/

I downloaded BYUU, then got the rom here:

http://www.coolrom.com/roms/snes/1785/D ... risser.php

Downloaded Patch here (version 1.02):

Not certain whether or not I hit upon the correct recipe here.

English translation patch does not work (friggin' bummer).

Got it. Go here:
http://byuu.org/programming/
Download this:
tsukuyomi v0.01
Then load it...follow instructions and you have it.

Sorry I rambled on and on here. At first it was because I needed guidance, then it became about figuring it out, and finally it was about sharing the info in case anyone else wanted to play the game. Thanks for putting up with me.

Much harder to find, but there was also a PC version remake that was done awhile back and translated into English.

Hopefully as the years and emulation software move forward, the other games in the Langrisser series get fan translated as well.

Ha-! Going slightly insane here (more so then usual). I found, then lost, the instructions on how to configure the game for mouse controls. I thought I had the page bookmarked while I performed my daily history erase yesterday. Today, it eludes me.

Anyone else trying the game out?
