The World of Eschalon

I promised this a while back, so it's about time I posted the World Map of Eschalon. A few things to note:
1) I rendered this low-resolution on purpose. The full high-res version will be on the
Book II CD.
2) Sorry, you do
not get to explore this entire world in
Book II. This is simply the charted world of Eschalon as it currently exists, giving you an idea of the general continental layout.
3) Small details will continue to be added throughout the last few weeks of development, so this map is not likely to be "final".
4) The western lands are primarily "Book III" regions, so you see they still lack considerable detail. Those areas will be filled in with detail when we begin development on that game.

very cool.

Yep - looks like Barrea and Wylderan will have to wait.
It's cool - I can wait...
(I am wondering how we get from Mistfell to Amireth in Book II though. Hmmm...

)
P.S. I just want to take this chance to say that I really
love CrazyBernie's idea to "unlock" the entire world of Eschalon upon completion of Book III. Something to think about...

P.P.S. Hmmm....
Seven provinces?! I only count
six.

Great work there BW!!
Which regions will we visit in Book II? Will they be Norland, Barrea and Mistfell?

Oh goodie! Something more to tide over the long interval between games!
Hope it means we finally get to travel by boat down the line.

I think you missed the "about" there... selective reading, perhaps??
It's always possible that another province got demoted... just wasn't pulling it's weight enough. ^_^

Oh, quite possibly!
But, like Rune I think, I'm hoping there's a "secret" or "hidden" seventh province somewhere.
I know I personally could never pass up a 'quest' to "find the lost province of Arabor!!!1!"

The recognized provinces of Eschalon are:
Thaermore
Mistfell
Nor'land
Barrea
Amireth
Wylderan
Mirland
There are several regions "between" provinces that are disputed, unclaimed, or are not recognized as provinces for geographical reasons. They are:
Western Thaermore
Crakamir
The Rift Zone
Midlande
Fandugan
Aruk-Algion
There are several unexplored areas that may or may not contain undiscovered areas. Likewise, while there is no polar north cap, it is unknown whether or not a southern ice cap exists.

Personally I like seeing stuff like this more than in-game screenshots

Wow, this is so cool! I love maps, one of my favorites is the Map of Middle Earth. Can't wait to see this in high resolution! Any chance we could get it 2560x1600 for a desktop wallpaper?
