I am looking at something like "true mage" where it says rank bonus 10%. What does that actually mean?

When you finish the game there is a screen that appears giving your score based upon your experience, level, a few other things, and rank bonus(es) in the different challenges. You can depending upon your game have succeeded in getting at least one and maybe up to six of them to increase your final score.

ah ok, so if i don't care about my final score there is no reason...
