Just how tough is this thing? I've spent 4 days in-game camping out, firing off fire darts into it for 7-8pts a dart, and the only thing I have to show for it is a lack of food supplies from eating all of them. Only the use of a spell keeps me in water for now. Another day or two and I'll probably be forced to restore a prior save, just for want of food.

You need something with a little more.... ooomf. Check the other posting about this.

Some objects in the game have 200 or more 'hit points' to them so hitting for low damage takes ages. Need bigger weapon, higher to hit or more 'oomph to the blast' as was said.

That depends on whether you can lock pick stuff that has high level locks on them. Or have high level "Lock Melt" spell. If chest has high level lock it takes forever to bash them open if you don't.

I found something in a bottle that I threw at it and the dragonels just seemed to burst into fla....., (well they got really hot) as they exited the nest as I beat on it with my fists ... for a very long time.
