Having some problems on the quest where I am supposed to find Mary's husband. I found him but he hasn't got the ring needed to complete the quest, my version is 1.04. Any way to add the item to my inventory?

Are you sure it was Mary's husband that you actually found? - There are lots of random corpses lying around the Parrishes.
You'll be close to finding Mary's husband if you get ambushed by a group of thugs - if you haven't been ambushed yet, then you haven't actually found Mary's husband yet.
HTH.

One little hint, Mary's husband is not on the same map that Mary herself is on.

Mary's husband is near the swamps east of Shadowmirk\Bordertown.
When your are heading north from the wife, you'll find a trust that advice you to take the path. Following the way, you will be taken by some thugs and their boss. You can choose to pay or fight; south of the place where you meet this people, there's a camp where you will find the corpse. Take the ring e carry that to Mary.

I became really sad when I first completed this quest. I was really moved by Mary´s reaction when I showed her the ring. Is it just me being overly virtous or is there anyone else who fellt just the slightest bit of sympathy?

No, I thought sympathicly too. It was a nice touch. Just so you know, in Book 2 there are wolves, killing them sounds just like beating up a dog and it really gets to me after a while. I have to stop and do something else before continuing on.

Not just Mary, but Penelope, too.
Sometimes I feel like half of being the protagonist of Eschalon is delivering bad news.
Then in Book 2, I met this girl who asked me to go investigate why her brother hasn't been answering her letters lately, and I thought to myself..."Ohhhh, craaaaap, this won't end well, will it?"

Yes I am 100% sure the corpse is right, the first thing after the frustration I checked the right coordinate from forums, it's just the place where I am. The corpse itself is there, no loot whatsoever, I was able to sprung a trap and get a disease from the corpse so I think there's no way that anything/me would have looted it before receiving the quest. Now I am just trying to find a way to add the item to my inventory, since I can't reason another way to finish the quest

Speaking of Penelope...
She earns like 2 gold pieces a week, right? I think she says that if you´re acting threateningly (is that correct english? Threateniningily

...) after giving her the letter. So if she gives you 10 coins thats like a LOT. In addition to the loss of her brother, that expense makes her life so much harder, so when I gave her the letter, I threatened her and spoke my intent to robb her. After saying this however, I walked to her chest/closet/container/whatever, put a few gems there and then walked out of the house, closed the door after me and never saw her again. I´m sure she became quite confused by this strangers mad behaviour, but hey, I couldn´t give her back my brother, but at least I could do that

I'm nearly positive that the corpse of Mary's husband will
never "disease" you, so I'm still thinking you've got the wrong corpse.
Where exactly is this corpse that you've found? Is it on the NE Thaermore map? Or is it on the North Parrish map? Did you get jumped by the thugs before finding it? Are there
two chests very nearby to this corpse? Etc...

In fact, I DID get diseased by Marys husband once. His corpse is in the sector just north of the one where you find Mary, so if you havn´t already been there and then sold the ring, I guess we are dealing with some sort of bug...

Yeah, I actually felt bad accepting her reward.
I recall in Baldur's Gate there's this quest where a farmer asks you to find his missing son. You find his corpse and report back to him, and of course the farmer is distraught because 1) his son is dead and 2) he can't possibly work the farm by himself and he can't afford to hire any help. There was an option to actually give him a bag of gold, claiming that you were 'overburdened' and he was actually doing you a favor by taking the gold.
I pick that option every time. It's funny, because it's just a video game, but it still makes me feel better to help out the NPCs.

For the second time, yes the corpse is right and can't be wrong one since the coordinates are right and everything about the quest is done like all walktroughs tell.

OK, then the next step is to "reset the map". I'm not exactly sure how you do that (others here may be able to tell you...), but if you search the forum for resetting a map (I think it's done most often with the Shadowmirk map), I think that's supposed to work.
Good luck!

The map reset solved the problem, I searched the corpse and now it had the ring! Thanks to all for the support I can now finally finish the quest.
