Release Version of DVD?

Post by Faithful »

I am wondering what version will be released on the DVD?

I am one that would rather wait a bit to get the DVD and have some of the fixes applied to the DVD version of the game.

I would rather it not be version 1.0 if at all possible.

I am wondering what version will arrive in the mail.

Thanks

I'd like to know as well, as I just ordered the DVD. Will we have to somehow update it by installing it from DVD, then uninstalling it and downloading the patched version? Or does the DVD come with a registration code, so we just download the patched version anyway, and unlock it?

The DVD will have all three versions of the game (Win/Mac/Linux) and they will be the latest versions available at the time they are pressed (either 1.02 or 1.03).

The Registation number that you got when you paid for the disc is what you will need to unlock all the games. That number will not be printed in the case, so you may want to print it off and put the paper in the case when the disc arrives.

Other than the games, it will have the Book 2 soundtrack in MP3 format which contains several sections of music that were not included in the game.

The video trailer will be on the disc, and possibly one other piece of video that was a test render for the Dwarven mine of Hammerlorne.

There will also be the high-resolution world map, which is 3200x2800 pixels and clocks in at 12MB. A smaller version of this (but bigger than map included with the game) may be made available online since many are asking for it, but this full-sized one will only be on the disc.

Thanks for the prompt reply :)

I don't recall being told a registration code when I ordered. I've checked my emailed Plimus order reference to look for a code. Mine appears to be a seven-digit number with no letters. Hoping that's the one...

You should have gotten two emails, one from Plimus and one from sales@basiliskgames.com with the Registration Number.

Oh, thanks. It got marked as spam, that's why I didn't see it.
Maybe a little bit more information in the sales process would avert this problem in future.

Stupid question...

If I buy the DVD version will the unlock code also work on the download version? I don't have the patience to wait for the physical DVD but I would like the map and other goodies. :)

Not a stupid question, but already answered around the forum. Yes, your code will unlock the downloaded version, as well as all three of the OS versions on the DVD when it arrives. Keep the code in a safe place, as it will NOT be sent with the DVD.

Yes, Type it, Print it, Fold it, and place it facing out in your DVD case when it arrives! :)

Thank you. I am posting from my phone so I was lazy with the search. My apologies.

Many thanks for a great game.

I bought two discs, so I can send one to my brother on the east coast. How do I know which code to use for which disc???

Basilisk Games on Twitter

"Book II Master DVD is off to the duplicator! First batch should be going out next week."

If the game is frozen at version 1.03, why do all the Mac and Linux fanboys and girls have to wait until Wednesday to buy the download from this site?
