two-handed sword

So what's the difference between the two-handed sword and the normal sword if they have the same base damage?Thx in advance.
Two-handed swords are supposed to do more damage than a regular sword of the same metal type. For instance an adamantium one-handed sword is base damage 7 while a two-handed sword would only need to be tungsten to have the same base damage.
The better quality metal wears out more slowly in combat if you are using the repair rules.
