Weapons and Armor Materials (may contain spoilers)

Hello !

In Book2 there are a lot of different materials for armor and weapons.
But what material is better then the other and in what way ?
A sword from different materials still does 6 damage and cost much higher...why ?
Do we have a list of materials from the poorest to the greatest ?

Thanks
Maxim.

Differing materials also weigh different amounts. I dumped my bronze battle axe for a mithril machete because the latter weighed half as much for the same damage.

Go read the Book of Metallurgy. It list the metals from best to worst. Better metals are more expensive, but the don't wear out as quickly.

And if your a mage type with some weapon skill, that weight limit is important.

And as Randomizer said, the better the metal, the longer it takes to need repairing.

Some items are just so hard to find. I'm in the last part of the last dungeon and still have never seen the Book of Metallurgy. If anyone would care to share that information, I'd love to see it. Otherwise, I'll wait until I run into it in my next game.

So you say the damage is not higher and the hit chance is the same ?
Only the "wearing off" , "repair time" and "weight" are different ?

Hit chance is based on skill and any magical modifiers.

Damage, Weight, and Durability are linked to the material. Damage is also dependent on the weapon type and name. So a two-handed sword will do more damage than a regular sword of the same material, but will be significantly heavier. Likewise, a regular sword made from a higher quality material will do more damage and weigh more (and last longer) than one of a lesser quality.

How it will do more damage if it's says 6-dmg (for example) for both swords of different material ?
