It was asked for in Book 1 and now (by others before you) but BW doesn't have the time yet. He has promised to think about it for Book 3 when we know the whole story and can then branch off into our own ideas. Book 2 is much larger and longer than book 1. It was going to be bigger but time constraints and begging players after waiting so long so those quests and add ons were dropped. They may be added later in the year if sales go well.

I believe that BW talked about releasing an editor with book 3, assuming the sales are strong enough from book 2 in order to fund the development of a book 3. While we all love the game, making enough of a profit developing indie games to keep developing them is something very few folks are able to do.
Too many people would rather steal than pay for stuff these days. Book 2 was not released yet, but if another "Humble Indie Bundle" event takes place, it would be great to see maybe Book 1 there to garner some attention.
