Choice of Weapon Enchantments

A Question:
With 3 enchantments allowed I'm guessing that 'To Hit' and 'Damage' are the top choices, but I'm not sure of the third. Cold seems to be most initially effective but Poison adds a lingering cumulative effect. Anybody favor Fire? Any thoughts??
Thanks,
JWR

Depends what you're playing. If you have the mojo, you can add the to hit through magic (or is it damage? Anyway...), so you might want to skip that enchantment. But if you do add to hit and damage, I'd probably go with Cold after that.

I haven't done much with alchemy, but once I applied poison. There wasn't much of a lingering effect, I have to say. Devilmanders suffered an extra hitpoint damage upon a hit, but there was no after effect apart from the game mentioning that the Devilmander had been 'further poisoned' upon another hit. Still the effect didn't linger, or maybe just for an extra turn.
Red Woves usually suffered for a few turns from it.
I got the impression that with strong creatures the impact from poisoning was minimal, if they didn't save against it. Probably with weak creatures, when you need it less, the impact would be bigger.

I've always been of the opinion that Poison is relatively
underpowered in Eschalon, because there seems to be no way to make Poison "stackable" - IOW, no matter how much Poison is dealt, it seems like mobs only lose 1 HP per turn from Poison no matter what.
If that were ever to change, then I might be more inclined to like Poison. (And I did have a +2 Poison Bow once, and it was sort of cool, though, as expected, the Poison aspect never really finished off any mobs I faced with that Bow...

)
Anyway, I'd go with Cold first, then Fire, and I'd go with Poison as my
last choice...

Good Advice: Thanks.
Most targets take an extra point or 2 on the hit, then most take another one on the next turn. I had saved just before adding Poison+3 to Warmoth so I may go back and try Cold. Right now I'm waiting for Zeb's Bow to 'ripen'. I'm trying to wait 'til I hit Level 20 to see if it will go higher than 9. Either way, I'll try Cold and see what happens.
