You and several other people. It's worse when you kill someone who drops a quest item and their bag falls behind a torch and you can't pick it up.

To the point: what do they call somebody in real life who goes around your city killing innocent shopkeepers and passersby?

Yes - it's already been reported as a bug.

I don't think the ultimate 'fix' for this will come before Book III (because this seems to be a true 'game engine' issue...). But I think there are some 'map tricks' BW can engineer in the meantime to mostly prevent this from happening...

They're not so innocent - have you seen what they charge for an ancient dragonskin skullcap?
