Looking for something new to play. Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy anything right now. If anyone knows any free RPGs, or an RPG with a big fun demo, I would love to try it.

Battle for Wesnoth, plays a bit like shinning force. More of a tactic/strategy based game with elements of RPG storytelling, but it is free.

Have you tried the Spiderweb games Avernum and Geneforge? The demos (not to mention the games themselves) are really big.

Jeff Vogel was the reason I found Basilisk Games in the First Place. I own the entire Geneforge series, and had a lot of enjoyment out of the Avernum demos (the demo for Avernum 3 was surprisingly huge, even to the caliber of other Spiderweb Software Games).
