House in Broken Blade - blocked even though free?

I was just about to finish up the borehead hunting mission, when I came across this house in Broken Blade. It has a very sturdy front door, which I - being a humble ranger - can neither pick nor smash. Fortunately, the side has collapsed, letting me enter one room that has a passage to the rest of the house. Unfortunately, even though this passage appears to be empty, it is blocked when I try to pass through it.

Is this intentional (i.e. there is supposed to be lots of rubble in the archway) or some kind of glitch?

The broken-chair graphic in there is getting in the way; it's supposed to be crammed with rubble and the like. Lug a keg of blackpowder over there and you should be able to blow it apart.

Ok, thanks!
Didn't even notice that it was supposed to be a chair lying in my way. Powder keg made short work of it. :-)

A simpler solution to this problem than a powder keg? - If you have one, you can chuck a flask of Demon Oil at the chair/rubble, and it will burn the rubble down allowing you to pass through the doorway.

(I'm always amused how, in Book II, because you can lug them around now, people's first instinct to removing obstacles is the powder keg solution, rather than the simpler Demon Oil solution... :P ;) )

I didn't even try to use demon oil - I thought they were only for the thrown weapons specialist... stupid me!

Anyway, I just finished the game (kinda disappointing finale) without throwing anything. :-)
