any way to speed up walking rate? i tried 16/32 & openG

Post by euthanatos »

i've tried most combos of 16/32-bit, openGL/DX, and Windowed/FullScreen

my guy walks OK but slow
i would like to move (much) quicker

walking slowly in a dungeon is great
but in the overworld it takes quite a while to move anywhere

any advice? i watched my CPU utilization and it's only at 20-30% while playing so i dont think its a system issue

i've got a dual-core PIV, 2 gig ram, and 256 MB GeForce 6800

You are probably walking as fast as you can. What is your performance rating (open the Options menu, the the options sub-menu, at the top of that window). If you are below 14-15 then you are seeing the game run as fast as it is supposed to go.

d'oh! im at 3-5 the vast majority of the time if i stare at the options screen; this is well below 14-15

i thought on the youtube vid the lil guy was running a lot faster,
but now that ive watched it a few times, im pretty sure i am achieving the true intended walking pace

maybe in the future we can get a "run/jog" toggle

Hello,

I have the impression that the farther away the mouse pointer from the center of the screen, the quicker you walk in the game.

Is this late night delirium ? or intended feature ?

Else it could be real nice to have a kind of running mode.
