Hello, my name is Jesse Zoeller. I am an indie developer and have recently released my first game DarkLight Dungeon. It is a 3D Dungeon exploration game with 2D turn based combat.

I am also working on DarkLight Dungeon - Eternity at the moment.

You can check out screenshots, forums and the demo on my webpage http://www.DarkLightDungeon.com

Thanks,

Jesse

Ah, yeah. I was playing the demo for this the other day. It's pretty good. Reminds me of Eye of the Beholder, but without a party and more advanced graphics.

What's the difference between DarkLight Dungeon and DarkLight Dungeon Eternity, aside from crisper graphics?

DarkLight Dungeon - Eternity is a complete rewrite of the engine from the ground up. Besides improvements to the graphics there are countless other improvements.

On my web site there is a section in the forums for DarkLight Dungeon - Eternity developer notes and screenshots, there is a ton of information there.

Just of few of the many improvements...

*Water reflections/refractions, underwater shader effects
*Multiple teleportals per room, with shader effects
*Multiple treasure chest per room, Many more monsters per room
*Rooms can be an unlimited number of floors deep
*Combat is being completely reworked, greatly improved, more depth
*6 schools of magic now, spells reworked, now have paralyize, weapon enchantments, attack/defense buffs, DD1-44 spells, DD2-120
*GUI much more functional, much improved interface, buffer bar, etc.
*Dungeon floor size increased 33%, dungeon size more than 4 times larger
*Over six hundred items
*A much more functional town
*Monster bounties
*New and improved abilities and skills
*Content of the dungeon greatly improved, puzzles, traps, layout, etc

DarkLight Dungeon Eternity is a very, very big improvement over DD1, in every aspect and much more in depth information on those impovements can be found in the forums.

Thanks for the intrest and feedback,

Jesse

Ah, cool. So Eternity is more of a remake than a sequel? Or maybe both? Sounds interesting, either way. About when will Eternity be released? Soonish...? Not so soonish?

It is probably more of a remake then a sequel, however it is a completely new game, new dungeon, new mechanicians. Think of it as being in the same "game world" with some back story from the first one.

I am looking at 4th quarter this year for a release, most of the programming is finished, but I have a lot of content and design left.

This looks awesome. It's likely I'll end up playing it, and good luck with your designing etc.

Hi jzoeller!

Nice job with the level design! It looks like it's good for hours and hours of exploring :)

I'm no 3D game expert, but I would add a few more details like those in the very first screenshot, and use them to cover the streight lines of the cave/dungeon levels a bit.

keep up the good work!
