I took out Zeblin hoping he would have the combinations for the three chests located elsewhere in his lair. Are these just to tease, or is there another encounter that yield the necessary tidbits. . .

I too had this problem at first. If you want a spoiler, read this, if not - don't.

Go into the room just north west of those three chests. There is a table in there, with codes to those chests, in order.

In the room where you open the gates to the chests, be sure you click on everything clickable. Move your mouse around to be sure.

It's a reference to "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out". Old Vietnam Special Forces saying...

Way older (1200's). It goes back to a medieval Papal Legate who ordered the army to kill the citizens of a southern French town that was know to have Cathars, who were considered heretical Christians by the church. But the town also had Catholics, so the army chief asked, but what about the Catholics, and the Papal Legate answered, "Kill them all, surely God will know his own".

Somewhere between 15-60k people were slaughtered that day.

Thanks, I remembered the saying from 'Nam, I just didn't know that was called the signature here. I thought you meant the picture--OK I'm dumb.
