Step 1. Watch these videos. Make sure it's in HD

Step 2. After you're done soiling yourself, close your mouth and wipe the drool.

Step 3. Read: This game will be Free. To. Play.

Step 4. See Step 2.

Step 5. Sign up for the beta. Supposedly three referrals gets you a spot... or at least allows you to reserve a call sign.

The only sad part is that the game is going to be multiplayer only, but c'est la vie...

I have followed this one for awhile. It looks amazing!

Free to play? How do they make their money? Unfortunately, nothing is truly free. I assume it will be an advertisement-based revenue model.

Also, multiplayer only?? Just not my cup of tea. Farewell, Hawken, I hardly knew ye.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed... I was hoping for at least some co-op vs ai, but there's still ten months left in the development... so there's still time to hope.

How much will it cost?
Hawken will be a downloadable free-to-play title. Yes, you can play for free. There will be in game purchases that will allow greater customization and more weapon variety.
from their website

I'm assuming that like any other F2P MMO it's going to be all about microtransactions, microtransactions, and microtransactions.

Considering the number of billboards in the game, there's a pretty easy advertisement revenue opportunity.
