Thanks for posting this (I don't use Twitter). Any news is good news. I was beginning to get worried that the Orakur had gotten to BW.

So I'm thinking, this is sort of an official pre-announcement, right? I mean, it's announcing that there will be an announcement. All previous statements were that BW would announce when he was going to announce the official announcement, and this is that, so...

I think all this waiting for Book III has my head twisted around.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but the Book II announcement was made almost a full year ahead of the actual release date. That might mean we don't get Book III until late 2013

It's an announcement of the next announcement date for an update for a delayed release of a screen shot.

Oh well, this is all to be expected from Basilisk Games.

But hey, one thing confirmed: it's not vaporware!

That's true.. At least here in the US.

Still, will be nice to have even an official estimate of the release date.

"Sometimes later this summer" could also be translated into "Maybe early autumn. Or not."

I can say that our Summer Crunch Session has been mostly successful. We've succeeded in making notable progress, however we haven't made quite enough progress (yet) to catch up to our original development schedule.

What this means is... nothing really. We are going to continue crunching. We will make a new schedule since we will not be able to meet the deadlines of the original schedule (don't worry, this is very common in software development).

We are definitely planning on making the official announcement sometime in the next month or two. For those who don't know: the "official announcement" will consist of launching the Book 3 product page, dropping a few alpha screenshots on it, and tossing out a press release with an estimated release window.

So is this a non-official announcement? Or a pre-announcement of the official announcement about the forthcoming official pre-announcement of the offical announcement of the estimated release date (open to revision, depending on circumstances)?

Forecast for release date: Sometime this lustrum.
