I found a chest in the hive cave and it asked for the pin code number. I havent run across anyone who mentions it. Only code I've gotten is for the abandoned house with nice weapon inside it.

Perhaps more of a hint, whats the simplest way of assigning numbers to each letter of the alphabet?

simpleist allocation would be randomly

most logical would be a numerical progression starting at one and going up by one as you run down/up the alphabet.

Thank you all. It would have taken me a long time to figure that out and would have gotten very frustrated. I was still trying to figure it out from the first hint here when my son came home from shopping and saw I was trying to figure it out. He gave me the first two numbers/letters and told me to figure out the rest and add them together. Got it open. Nice amount of cash! Killed the queen and got the larve. Headed back now to end the two quests.

19 + 20 + 5 + 5 + 12 = 61

I was too lazy to count the alphabet although I figured that would be the solution, so I just blew it up. It took about a weeks worth of time, but I got it open.

S is the 19th letter of the alpha bet

T is the 20t

so on and so forth


Steel is the answer, so 19 + 20 + + + + = combo

x_x I haven't encountered this particular chest, it seems. Pray tell, where is it? Also, does the goblin here give you the code for the chest in the abandoned house, or for somewhere else?

You need to put some levers in the right place to even unlock the part of the cave containing the chest. The goblin's code is for the Goblin Citadel; the number for the abandoned house you can get from a women in the North Parish area.

Well, for one thing, it's not in North Parish. Try Central Tanglewood, south of the western entrance to Grimmhold.
