[spoiler request] A few questions

Great game, I'm addicted. Its obvious that a lot of time and care went into the development.
I have a few questions, I searched the forums but haven't found anything.
Are there any clues that I may have missed regarding the order of the levers in the Hive cave? I've tried messing around with them but I haven't had any luck.
Is there a quests associated with the Ossuary? I've started exploring it, but I wonder if I should leave it for later.
Do gems have any use later on? Or should I just sell them?
Thanks!

Just a mild spoiler: one row use 2 switches, the other use 1.

Let me put it this way: there's no harm in leaving it for later.

Gems? Like, diamonds and stuff? They have no purpose, just sell 'em.

Hmm, is there a clue for that somewhere in the game, or do you just have to guess?

As far as I know, you have to guess. It's not that hard, though

There are only 2^6 = 64 possible combinations anyway, I just started through all of 'em.

Actually there was another post about these levers, and thankfully someone already posted the answer. I couldn't figure it out. heh.

I sat there and did my binary counting exercises. There is no clue, as far as I can tell.
