Development progress report: spent all day cleaning water from my flooded basement.

Book 3 progress = zero. Eh, tomorrow's a new day...

That's not quite the progress we want to hear, but sorry about your basement. Have you considered moving your offices and home to an ark?

Clearly this will mean that there's another "clean out my basement" miniquest in Book III, this time with flooded areas and slime monsters.

Actually, in all seriousness, Kreador's suggestion is a cool idea for a short-ish side-quest.
[Captain Picard:] Make it so!!

This being the basement cleaning in Book I, or taking the recipe in Port K in Book II?

Turns wise, the basement cleaning might actually be faster, because the new player who has just entered Port Kuudad will wander around a bit before completing the quest.

Wait, you mean I don't get paid? {for the record, I will count playing Book III as my payment}

For first time playthroughs, maybe. On the second playthrough though, I daresay that they'd head straight into the alchemists shop. Besides, I also had to go up and camp to regain health during thebasement clean-up quest. I did that quest as soon as I got to Aridell basically.

You'r right, Vroqren. But the first time is the truly important time. For example: one will spend tens of hours wandering Thaermore or Mistfell/Nord'daer on their first playthrough, but will go straight for the goodies on their second.

Definitely referring to the recipe in Book II in Port Kuudad.

Seriously, this game is gonna rock the house regardless of quests. Im playing the game Book 2 in a way that is not usually expected, yet it is working all because the stat/character-building system is perfect.
In a way its almost a crime that someone could make a game that is so good that because of that, I have a tough time playing other games like it. I find that when I play other games out there, I always 5 minutes into the game say "Eschalon did this better, what am I playing this for?"
Ive said it before, I'll say it again, when I want to play a party based game-Spiderweb all the way. When solo character-Basilisk to the max! It still makes sense and I doubt that will change anytime soon.
