I know everyone's focused on how good the actual game is going to be, but for me one of the highlights from playing Book I and II was the music, I know book II had less music than I (or maybe not, I just liked book I's more), and I was wondering if there's going to be new/improved music for book III or mostly the same as the previous games?

+1. I loved it as well from B1 and B2.

A little teaser would be nice too...

BW has said that the music for Book III will be from someone new. That being said, I have no doubt that it is important to him that it continues to contribute positively to the feel of the game. I loved the music in the first two games.....

Book III's music is the best of all three games. The main Eschalon theme and several tracks were written by the guy who helped with the Book I and II soundtracks (so the familiar Eschalon theme is still there). Due to contract obligations he is not able to help us any further, but his partner has written a bunch of tracks for us which sound just as awesome. In addition, we've brought back in a composer who contributed one track in the previous game, and he is writing several new tracks for Book III. And there are two other composers as well, each with their own strengths.

To put it bluntly: Book III has an epic soundtrack and will have more original music than Book I and II combined.

In my opinion the Eschalon and almost all Spiderweb Rpgs (even the ones I haven't completed), all have great music. The Quest has some catchy music too.

When I listen to gaming music, I like to look at Atmosphere. In my opinion, Eschalon Book 1 had an incredible sound because the music got better when it shifted towards the forest. I think that nothing is more cool for a rpg than a forest filled with trees and lively landscape.

Book 2 was just as epic and I liked that one a lot.

Its a shame that "The Quest" never got more than a few tracks like Eschalon but I still like the game a lot.

I agree with your views on atmosphere deathknight,

sometimes it's great when music just pauses and you have space to think. The world is made up of silence just as much as sound. The balancing act between these elements to me show how you can make an even more immersive world without spending a lot of money.

I absolutely loved the opening music to book 2. It was a the perfect merging of epic heroism of a lone wanderer with mysterious wonder. The best music for a video game I've heard, and a perfect fit. I don't think it can be better.

Can we get an OST with Book III's release?

Very possible. Let's see how the launch (first month) goes.
