I'm in Vela, in the torture chamber, i got the message that i see a man alive on a rack. Except i see only 2 skeletons and a large pot, 3 torches and no other interactive things.

I got here _before_ i got the quest to find my brother. Now i have the quest to save him, but he is still not here, despite what the text said.

Using 1.03 version.

Any advice/idea?

He was accidentally killed by a Bombthung. It's a known issue.

Go back to a saved game just before you reach that hut and try to draw the enemies away from the area.

Well, i don't have saves prior that, so i guess he won't be saved. Hope he is not needed for the completion of the game.

1) Leave Vela and save
2) Backup your save game folder
3) Delete the map files for Vela
4) Open the save and go back to Vela
5) You'll have to redo the whole area, but your brother should be back.

I have the same problem, tried the fix, but where do I find the Vela Map Files?? So I can delete them??

Official instructions for resetting Vela:

1) Leave Vela and save your game in either Baron's Thicket or Blackwater area.
2) Exit the game, go to the save game slot that you just saved to, and delete these three files: "22.map", "22.opq", and "22.ent"
[note] Your saved game slots should be in a folder called "Eschalon Book 1 Saved Games", inside your "My Documents" folder. If you don't find it there, check the game's installation folder.
3) Restart the game, and load your last save. Now when you return to Vela, it should be reset.

I thought about calling you last night BW, didn't think you would have still been awake!!
