Holiday Update!

Greetings everyone! Here is a little update before the holiday season fully begins (Thanksgiving in the U.S. marks the start of the Christmas season):

Development is continuing at a strong pace. Our faithful Alpha Testers have continued to give great feedback even past the testing period. Thanks for that, guys!

Our official release date is going to be Valentine's Day - February 14, 2014. This is official, but we haven't announced it publicly. We'll probably do a press release on this after next week, so consider this "insider information".

A beta testing application will go online in early January. We'll bring in six more people to run through the game and help balance it, as well as check spelling and mop up remaining bugs. I expect there will be very few "major" bugs at that time. The engine is mature and stable, and as I said, the Alpha Testers have done a great job with this. After 4 weeks of beta testing, we should have a solid, balanced game by February 14.

It feels great to see the finish line! This has been a long development cycle and we hope everyone is as excited as we are to see this game finished up!

Will the Valentine's Day release be just for the PC with the Mac and Linux versions following later? Also, when will the Mac testing start?

Whooooppeeeeee!

OK, that's good news - that means the Mac version should come out in early March, and one of my colleges has a Spring Break holiday starting March 10, so that's perfect - I should have about a straight week to play Book III through... :)

99% sure we are going to do a simultaneous Windows, Mac & Linux release this time.

However, we will probably only release it on Valentine's Day here at basiliskgames.com. Other services like Steam and Mac App Store will likely come a week or two later.

Also, what did you decide to do about the question of a physical CD?

Nah, you'd just hook that up as a larger monitor to really enjoy the game. :)
