I wouldn't mind listening to my own MP3s or Internet radio while playing but I don't see a "mute" option anywhere - can I disable sound?

You should be able to go into the Options menu and click on the Music Volume option to raise or lower it.

I've got the same problem: sound cannot be turned off completely: clicks and sounds of strikes stays...

Same here.. The sound cant be 100% turned off unless you muted the computer... And I was hoping to play my music while playing
