The Drunken Lizard Pub

I went through the game once, finding 25 of the 30 secret areas. I'm doing a second pass now and cannot discover/remember how to open the 2nd level of Rockhammer mine. I've killed all the scorpions and reported it to the gruff mine manager, but that seems not enough to open the doors that lead downstairs. Can someone jog my memory? Many thanks in advance!

Thank you! On the same level, there's a closed section right near where they have the name of the pit boss (Kronus) that contains chests and a red ceramic holder. Is there a way to open that door? Blasting doesn't work and I think I clicked on every available lever. Again, many thanks in advance!

No, there used to be a useless lever next to that gate that got removed in beta testing.
