eschalon ran beautifully on this hp laptop 3200 nvidia grapics card, with mandriva 2008,
However on mandriva 2009 it runs very very very slowly, making it unplayable.
mouse movement is very jerky
any ideas
I'm using the xorg video driver

If I remember right, the game uses OpenGL. So you need an accelerated driver.

May it be that Mandriva 2009 is not using the nvidia proprietary driver by default? It's probable that you dont have DRI acceleration enabled through it.
