Hey guys,
I'm sorry that this is the first post I have made on the forums, but I just started playing Eschalon I a few days ago (I bought both I and II on steam recently). As of now, neither Book I nor II actually starts (it says the app is loading, or loaded, but not "not responding" and I don't get the start window).
My mac's info is:
Model: MacBook Pro 5.1
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
I did run one update recently, which I think may have messed things up. I have tried restarting steam, my computer, and even reinstalling Book I after removing the saved games. Any further advice on fixing this?

I think I have the games working now. What happened was that Steam broke somewhat due to an update I must have run just before I tried to play the games, and then was fixed in a subsequent update.
