Fortunately this time round as a magik user I've not hit the problem of elemental level as I've pumped skill points into elemental after I trained to the max - I was just curious.

Is there any particular reason why there are no items to increase elemental magic apart from training or the book (unlike divination) or why it is sooooooo hard to find an elemental ring even from a vendor?

I'm on my 6th play and NEVER seen an elemental ring (+3) although I know they exist because ...

personally I've never tried lore as a "skill" (seems a waste of skill points).

I stick to the lore spell (divination). Most items can be identified with casting at level 3, a couple rquire level 4 and you usually have enough points into divination to make it worthwhile waiting.

I set a level 1 anchor point in Blackwater, so if I cast at l1 then I will alwys end up in Blackwater. If I now set a level 2 anchor somewhere else then that will transport me there from anywhere on the map and the casting level (from where I am) will determine where I ...

So I created an anchor in Blackwater (at level 1 casting), now I am outside what I think is the Goblin haven and want to create a "jump point" there so I can get back between the 2 places but it doesn't seem to work how I expect it to, so I'm missing something!

Can someone please explain how to use the portal spell properly?
