I'm pretty sure it was Crystals of Arborea on PC. Not a classic by any means but a good starting point for a young inexperienced player.
Following that up with Bards Tale II was... tough!

Re: What's missing??
Something totally different, inspired by the features topic in the RPG forum:
I think it's kind of a pity that we just spent the time between book I and II fishing of all things. It would've been nice to choose a bit how we spent our time and get subsequent bonuses/penalties, like extra strength ...

Re: If I really like Fallout 3 and Eschalon 2..try Fallout 2
Have to admit I only played Fallout 2 when it came out, but I'd say definitely!
I remember it being quite long, with a big world, and lots of room for character development. Also many sidequests and a good main storyline.
The only really flaw I could detect was that the game was quite buggy when ...

Re: What's missing??
I selected more quests and more enemies, since those were 2 of the main shortfalls for me. It started out nicely but after I came to Port Kuudad I think I only had three new quests not tied to the main storyline (not counting shortest quest ever...) IMO that's not much.

Re: Poll: Book II Game Rules: Hit or Miss?
[x] I turn them all on because I like the extra challenge and realism. The bonus to exp/loot/endgame score is a side-effect of that choice, but not why I chose to turn on all the options, not that I mind the extra loot, exp, endgame score.
I turn them all on for the same reason. The extra loot ...

Re: Is Book II Easy or Hard??
I just finished my first game as a true mago too, and found it a bit too easy. the dwarven mine was pretty much a cakewalk for me, but otherwise it did built nicely throughout the game. If I remember correctly only the Taurax Spearmen really gave me a somewhat tough time, but Dense Nimbus usually ...

Re: What do you like best about Book II?
Firstly hi all!
The thing I liked most about Book II was definitely the gameplay. The game still played a lot like book I even with a lot of new ideas, which IMO is a good thing. Like with Book I it was very addictive, and very easy to spend more time playing while I was supposed to do other stuff ...
