I am going to guess that XP is more dependent on use than on killing? Thus, I could sneak past all the enemies as a rogue and still "level up" the skills relevant to me? And as the mage, I could charm everything, let them do my killing, and not worry about being "gimped" because I don't get the kill ...

I was talking about this just the other day on another forum, prompted by a little game called "Cottage of Doom" (http://distractionware.com/blog/?p=116) and it got me thinking - why are there no zombie survival mmo's? Because survival is a hard thing to depict in a game, unless people are prepared ...

Well, from what I hear, the perma-death thing, which was made an option in a later patch, really caught tons of flak. 4 years ago, when that came out, I would think that the way to get one's name out and the opportunities for Digital Download were rather low. I hardly bought indie games back then (I ...
Wow, that was sooooo funny!
And he basically said, much more comedically, what I said when I finished the game. It really IS System Shock 2. He was 100% right. Not that this is such a crime, because SS2 is my favorite game of all time, which I have played 6 times through. Still, you can only go so ...

BTW, it looks like Loki is now available for digital purchase on Gamersgate, if you get interested from the demo.

That is pretty funny, swearing if you don't buy anything.
I tried the Loki demo, meh. I was experiencing some choppy performance, not sure why, as my computer can run Bioshock with little problems. Of course, I have choppy issues with Titan's Quest too, so I blame the games' engines. As far as the ...

Loki Demo
Fileplanet.com has had a demo of Loki up for several weeks now. I completely ignored it, because it looked like one of those Korean MMORPG, which are the worst thing to hit RPGs that I can think of.
Anyway, here is the link:

Sounds great! Simple is fine by me, and having multiple skill trees of magic can lead to overspecialization and less "fun" (who wants to be casting one fire spell the entire game, for instance).
I meant to ask earlier, learning spells is level based, skill based, or "read a scroll based/" I think ...

Hi all! I just found out about Eschalon on another forum, and I have to say, I am super excited! It is about time that a good old fashioned RPG got developed, I am up to my ears and frustrated with all the action RPGs out on the market! Nothing like good old turn based combat with isometric above ...
