In the beginning stages I'd already tried a melee fighter (which allowed me not to change genders, ahem) and found that my beginning sword disintegrated before I got a chance to return to the weaponsmith to have it fixed. I found no replacement sword in the meantime, only knives (piercing weapons ...

in this particular case i guess it would be enough to eliminate two torches from the front-wall of the rangers-house.In my case i was expecting the key to be in one of the containers of the house.but since i saw an quick shimmer when the ranger died i figured that she dropped a lot-bag.

when i killed the ranger which was supposed to give me certain key - she dropped it on an unaccessible place-inside her house near the (south-west) wall.on the opposite site of that wall is an torch. okay! all went fine with an invisible potion - door open and the way to the coast clear!
meanwhile i got 3 citizen writs- no guard will ever stand in my way again!!
going to see if i find that secret passage anyway.

okay! thank you a lot !! i see - i entered illegally in the first place and now they don´t want to let me officially in - or out ... :D anyway it would be nice to have the option to show them the writ even after entering illegally.It doesn´t make much sense because i´m running around in their town ...

ok- i´m still sword fighting my way through the game and i can say that after the heads-up i got from all of you - i´m much more concentrated on the essential:
a good sword /skill
good armor/shield/skill
strength and endurance.(speed...?)
going to work my way up and report back soon !
