Re: Steam Summer Sale

It's about time :P I mean, I already have both games on CD already, but I've been too worried about putting the CD into my Mac because it suffers from sharp edges around where you'd insert the CD, and no way did I want to scratch the games.

Re: The Best 10 RPGs of all time!

Hmm, kind of tough.

The obvious 3 first, but not sure after that...

1) Ultima 7: The Black Gate (Best CRPG ever by a long shot imho. I won't include Serpents Isle in this list. I'll only choose 1 game per series)
2) Betrayel at Krondor
3) Wizardry VII

Now this is where it gets tough. The rest are ...

I think that the bottom line is that, more and more, game developers are getting the opportunity to use more and more grandiose graphics and sound for their games, and this is what they're getting hung up on.

Talk to anyone playing games now - do they talk about the game and how you play it? No ...

http://www.the-underdogs.info/ is also a great resource for old games (they have Wasteland for example). However, titles like Arcanum are still actually in-print and you won't be able to, legally, get a copy for free (unless someone just agrees to give you their copy or whatever).
Underdogs will ...

Alright, why I like many old school RPGs. (Personal opinion, not talking for anyone, and you may disagree with me on every point).

As previously mentioned, thick manuals because of sparse in game info. Although I do like lots of in-game info. I use to read the manuals cover to cover. (Although ...

Re: bought windows version -> buy mac version too?

didn´t have the patience to wait for the mac version so I bought it for windows.

Now I want to play it on my mac, do I have to buy it again?

I remeber it was mentioned that you would allow us getting it for free within 30 days of the release. Is this still the case?

thanks
MK

Very good CRPG, especially since you have a limited time to beat the game, which is an interesting twist for RPGs. It would be nice if a few others added it. Too much content to be able to be beated in 1 playthrough adds replayabilitiy that seems to be lacking in RPGs.

One thing I would like, sorry if it's been discussed (probably has earlier), is a change to the skill system.

Perhaps don't allow trainers or books to be useable if you don't already know a skill, and treat trainers the same way as books. A book raises your level several points it seems regardless ...

Lost most of my saves

I'm just playing the game in a random order, and have only entered the cemetery now. I am an adamant saver/reloader, and save slots 4-10 broke. They now appear blank on the screen, and if I try saving to them, it's responds with an error, and if I try loading from them, it crashes.

*EDIT*

Alright ...

Ultima VII (Well, most of the series. I think I am the only living person who actually like 8, but VII is definately the high point imho for CRPGs).
Betrayal at Krondor
Magic Candle
Wizardy VII
Divine Divinity
Bards Tale
Magic Candle
Lands of Lore
Times of Lore
