[Incidentally, what was the fastest PowerPC Mac produced? I wonder if the slightly increased system requirements of Book II would exclude a sizable percentage of older Macs by default.

The fastest APPLE produced G4 was the dual 1.42GHz MDD (although not too many of them were produced), so dual ...

G5s started off at 1.6 and ended at 2.7 GHz.
G4's topped out at ≈ 1.7 GHz, tho with after market upgrades G4s run up to 2.0 GHzish

Programming for the lowest common Windows denominator but only for the most recent Mac users on an 'old school' game would (imho) leave a bad taste in some mouths. Just my 2¢.
I agree, but Windows is just Windows. All the different versions of Windows compile on my single Windows workstation. Mac ...

Well, in a pinch you could just fight/save. Fight the salamander and if you hit and it doesn't hit you back, save. If you get hit and don't hit back, reload. Repeat the process until you can escape. This will be really tedious, but if you have no other alternative it is better than restarting.

Tried booting via target disc mode via an external bootable volume (like a laptop)? That saved me from a grey screen once upon a time. Keeping an external drive formated as a bootable volume is always a good idea for a Mac user ;)
Also, if it is a PowerMac that has a graphics card other than what ...

I'm not a big fan of the mouse movement control myself, but it is manageable and (imho) not a significant enough issue not to play the game. The time when I found the mouse movement objectionable is when you get within a couple of tiles from a door or other interactive object. The pointer often ...

I am sure it has been mentioned but:
Side quests based upon Origin, Race, Sex, Axiom, Class, Whatever. Sure it would be a bunch more work but it would add replay value to Book 2.
In Book 1 you can accomplish quests in different ways depending on your skill set, but they're all the same quest whether ...

If you rest inside someplace with the door shut you can at least avoid getting swarmed in your sleep (since patch 1.2 or 1.3, anyway). I found the monster spawning slowed down when I got to higher levels .. just when they started to drop worthwhile loot. 8>.

And is it just my luck or are the only ...

On slightly different tangent, I'd like to see some additional content to the series. Following the 'Book' format of Eschalon, it would be nifty to have a Eschalon Book 1: Epilogue that bridged the story between Book 1 and Book 2. This would be essentially an expansion pack for Book 1 using the same ...

I'd like to agree with macdude22 about the Mac sales being good (and I suspect they will be pretty good for a small install base), but there are Mac forums out there where folks roll their eyes at equating pirating software to theft then go on to ask for an invite to the latest torrent site. Mac ...

Eagerly waiting for the Mac release in a couple of days, but in the meanwhile my completely Mac-centric 2¢

1024x768 wouldn't stop me from playing Book2 (just like 800x600 won't stop me from Book1), but it doesn't make me giddy with excitement. have a display at 2560x1600 and a MacBook Pro at ...

The Mac version is coming but we need to get the Windows version out of the way first. The Intel Mac version is actually up and running just fine right now. We've still got to get the Mac installer done and do a couple weeks of testing. I think the Mac version will be ready to go before Christmas ...
