I've explored everything I can on level one. How do you get to level two of the tower?

Just get past that area with the teleport pads & there you are.

...also, have to read the signs over the chests and place item it asks for inside. Then step on the teleport symbol.

Ok I'm stumped. I know you need to put something in both chests. But what ? I've tried practically every potion in my inventory, even unidentified ones. Strength is what? Mana potion? Eases Pain is what , healing elixer?
Can anyone help with WHAT goes in the chest?
Anyone?

The strength one should be interpreted quite literally. Highlight the quote for a direct answer

You should find a Potion of Ogre Strength (it's pinkish-red IIRC) somewhere on the level. That's the potion for the strength one. Ease my Pain is, as you guessed, a Healing Elixir - I used a Healing Elixir II, not sure if other levels work.

Potion 1 can be found in the room behind all those bones ...
Potion 2 does not require tier II ... tier I is fully sufficient
