Trying to find sick man west of Salted Coast...

Eastern Salted Coast, near the border to the west, below Aridell.

Also when on that map, follow the forest edge almost to the west edge and there will be a narrow path. Follow that and you'll find him. Watch out for the unstable powder barrels...

I've never had any trouble with the powder barrels, actually, Dragonlady. In fact, I tried shooting them at one point, and they wouldn't explode.

Really?I did shoot them once,and they exploded just fine,taking 3 bandits with them.

Mostly I was just having a bit of fun..scaring the original poster. But, one time one of them did explode when hit with a rock.

The odd thing (I've just checked) is that I can't even target the barrels now. They don't change when I move the cursor over them. I even tried walking up to them to bash them - I can't even do that!

I'm sure I was able to fire at them before, although they wouldn't explode. AIR when you first come to this place, you get a message about the barrels being old and damp, and thus possibly no longer explosive. I wonder if that's anything to do with it?

Your right. I was playing this evening and couldn't do either. Must have been changed during the beta testing. Oh well, at least I had a laugh watching those acid blobs and some thugs duel it out near the barrels! I just popped a few fire darts to get in some experience points and watched.

I'm wondering if early in the game, you can still explode them - AIR I didn't have a ranged weapon the first time I went there - later, you can target the barrels but they won't explode, and still later you can't even target them?

I created a brand new magic user with fire dart and unarmed combat. Walked down to his house. Nothing.

I even threatened and then punched him to see if anything happens. Still nothing.

When I was demo'ing this game I found out about those barrels the hard way. 'Twas merrily bashing barrels and finding loot in that deserted/destroyed town you start in when I went to bash the powder barrels.

Character build #2 didn't suffer such lapses in judgment.
