We're here! We are working hard on it every day.

We recently moved the studio to a new location so the past couple weeks has been a little slow on the development side, but we're back on it full-time (and then some).

Have you seen the indie RPG interview we participated in last week? The link can be found on the Basilisk Games home page. There a bit of fresh information in the interview.

The forecast is: we hope to be able to announce the semi-public beta test in a couple more months, and then we should be gold shortly after that. As always, things can change and so we can't give any dates yet, but we are very hopeful it won't be much longer. :)

We know everyone wants a quality game and not a rushed game, so thanks for your patience everyone!

I know it and I appreciate it.
I was hoping you could give us some monster art, new hero screens and perhaps a little gameplay video.
Justo to take a look to your work.

Thanks for your efforts anyway.

Good work!

But if they don't know, how would that help? When they failed to make said release date, as the probably would, it'd just be a dissapointment for us awaiting the game.

Hehe, yeah. We thought it'd take us a year to make an RPG. What the hell were we thinking?

Hey, do you think that the next game will come out much quicker, now that you have an engine and know what to do? Or it will take about the same amount of time?

By the way, take all the time you want...a good game is always better than a half-baked one rushed out the door.

It's hard to say. We have a lot of cool ideas we'd like to do for Book II, some of which would require a completely new engine. But even if we go with a new engine, we already have many tools created that will make the development of the next game go a bit quicker. Remember, Book I started with nothing. Every line of code and graphic pixel had to be created from scratch. With Book II we will have all of Book I's assets to start off with. Even a new engine can be built from the skeletal remains of the old one, so it'd develop a bit quicker.

We will definitely hold discussions/polls here when that time comes to get everyone's opinion on what they want to see come next in the series.

This is a pretty interesting subject.

All games that come out now from big studio's almost always have a brand new engine, which unfortunately means all the time is spent on the engine and the graphics, or at least the large majority of it.

I think I prefer back in old days when a company would make a couple of games or more with the same engine, that way that could spend all of their time creating content instead of a new engine.

However, this being said you do want some engine progress and changes eventually.

I guess I personally would like to see maybe 2 games with the same engine before starting a new one....I definitely think more time spent on the gameplay and storylines make for a much better game. This being said, maybe if you built a new engine based on the old and could still spend majority of time on the new game content, that would be ideal i guess.

I remember playing Ultima Online when it came out, I didnt like it much and didnt play it long but I remember thinking I liked the engine quite a bit and thought it could have made a very good single player Ultima.

Anyways, just my thoughts.
