need some recommendations...

Post by mehlev »

Hi! I'm new to the RPG world, and I'd like some recommendations if you have them. I really liked Eschalon, because it fit some of my likes. I list you what I like and don't so you can tell me what games would suit.

I like this style, I think I read somewhere "80s style"? Just simple, it doesn't need to be fancy graphics.
I also like being the hero/heroine -- no armies or multiple characters.
I don't like alot of dank dark dungeons, I'm more into towns and building up different skills and finding treasures.
And a story would be nice.

I think that's it -- mainly more skills/level related and not dungeon related. I'm a scardy-cat so I hate dungeons...the only thing that saved me in this game was the "predator sight".

OK thanks!! :)

Another quick mini-game. This is a perfect execution of creating a quickie online game like a Mario. Still unique but perfect execution.

I've just taken another look at AoD, and I have to say, it looks pretty amazing. Thanks for (re)posting that link!

You should have a look at The Age of Decadence. You can get a feel of the game by starting at this three part Let's Play article at RPGWatch. The game isn't out yet but it should be released before the end of 2008.

Is this the game that Tiberius (from Ultima: Lazarus) is involved with?
