Keepsake

Post by Evnissyen »

Anybody played this game? Anyone have any opinions on it?

It looks like an interesting game; I like that style of games like The Longest Journey / Dreamfall, Syberia, Still Life, Black Mirror and so forth.

But I'm not sure it's quite interesting enough to buy. The demo really wasn't long enough to pull me in. And one of things I don't understand about that game is all the work that was put into all the different scenes (that empty school can be quite confusing at first... and the variety of camera angles didn't entirely help, although I've no significant argument with that) which apparently have no purpose. In The Longest Journey, by contrast: almost every screen had a purpose to it. In Keepsake, there were so many screens that apparently had no purpose other than to look pretty.

Syberia seems to be like that, too... at least based on the demo.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.
