I'm in Bordertown, in the shop with a door, and I ran in to avoid some brigands, who followed me, and the NPCs in town came running to fight them. They won, of course... but now I'm trapped inside, and before I noticed... I saved.
Is there any way to nudge the NPC blocking me in out of the way, aside from attacking him and running as far and as fast as I can? It's the blacksmith, so I'd really rather not have him as an enemy.
Thanks in advance.

Stand back and press [SPACE] over and over. Time will pass and he should wander eventually.

If I remember correctly the blacksmith in Bordertown typically doesn't move (seems like he's set up shop in the doorway
) but then again I never got involved in a fight in Bordertown so I'm not sure what non-moving NPCs do once they've been displaced.
My instincts assume nothing but if they were preprogrammed to move back to their standard position that would probably be best. Some thought for Book II.

Can you QuickTravel back to the sign in Aridell?

No, there's unfortunately still one brigand just close enough that I can't Quick Travel, but just far enough away that it doesn't grab their attention.
Oh well, I was only about two hours in.

Not sure if that works in Bordertown. I've had them end up by the guards and over in the swampy area. STore keepers that is. They'd stay there the entire game. I got a little irritating having to walk so far just to sell items or buy them

Yep, the merchants in Bordertown don't seem to move around randomly at all.
Tough one. I assume you can't angle a shot at the monster to draw it closer, and if you're only 2 hours in I'm guessing it's too much to hope for that you might have a demon oil - a bit of hotfoot might make him move.
Wish I knew how to trigger that funny bug where you reload a saved game and end up somewhere else on the map... might be helpful to you here.
