Does anybody know what stats, skills or equipment contribute to the "damage reduction" % ?
Also, this is the first Basilisk game I've played--what else would you folks recommend to someone who loves Eschalon?
Damage Reduction
Re: Damage Reduction
Hello? )))ello )))llo )))lo )))o
crickets?
Anybody?
Ok, I get that Book I is apparently the first game from Basilisk. Nobody has anything to say on damage reduction? Or are you all feverishly researching. In which case I'm impressed.

Re: Damage Reduction
Heh, that's a cool echo effect!
From the players manual: "Your character’s total Damage Reduction amount is a percentage calculated from armor on his head (40% of total reduction), torso (40% of total reduction) and legs (20% of total reduction). Heavy armor naturally offers greater damage reduction than Light armor."
So, the more skilled you are in your particular armor category (Light or Heavy) combined with the quality of the armor you are wearing on your Head, Torso, and Legs = the total amount of Damage Reduction.

Re: Damage Reduction
Thanks! So there is a point to increasing armor skill. Good to know. I didn't get a manual--was it supposed to come with the download, or is it only with the CD?
Re: Damage Reduction
Got it--not so obvious, though. Had to right-click on the icon, select "show contents", then open "contents", then open "resources", then open "game", and there it was! Good thing the gameplay is basically intuitive, or I would have found it frustrating. Thanks all.
