NEWS ITEM: September 3, 2008 - Basilisk's Monstrous October

Post by BasiliskWrangler »

Many of you have been following our weekly Q&A thread where we answer your questions regarding Eschalon: Book II. We've been mostly good at keeping up with it regularly, posting new answers usually over the weekends. If you haven't seen it yet, please follow the link and check it out!

I mention this Q&A Thread only because we have decided to run a feature in October where rather than answer a new question each week, we will instead unveil a new Book II monster complete with stats, lore and picture. We will link to the monster's page from here in the Recent Updates thread, so be sure to check here (news page) for the first monster on Monday, October 6th!

Reading the title of this thread gave me the wrong impression, which is why I really enjoy this announcement now, similar to how earlier today I say a strange light pattern out of the corner of my eye and, in the way that the brain tends to fill in gaps of missing information, I somehow got the impression that it was a small puppy walking out of the door I just opened.

This of course is completely different, but I felt I had to say that nonetheless.

ANYway I also, too, as well, really look forward to this.

We'll see... :)

For the monster feature in October, we're looking through the list now to decide which four we'd like to highlight. We're going to start with a "simple" creature and go up from there.

Sometimes, simple creatures can be the most fun....you can do so much with them....

did you ever see that old D&D supplement about making creatures more deadly?

imagine a hallway with arrow slits all the way down with goblins inside the walls on both sides...all of a sudden even the most simple goblin can become deadly.....in numbers.

Oh, and always loved the slimes in the old ultima games....so annoying to keep expanding with each hit but boy did you feel good when they finally died. I'm a huge fan of specific weaknesses for creatures as well...

I just realized this all came out as a mess sorry very little sleep and my mind was racing.
