What's going on over at Basilisk?

Hi everyone! I think it's time for a little update. What's going on at Basilisk games? Any breakthroughs? Setbacks? Can't wait to play your game.

Same old same old: we're still on content and polish. Things are looking good but we need a bit more time to wrap it all up and make it look and play it's best.

We are working on a couple more articles, talking about the game and the development process, so you'll have that to read in the coming weeks.

That's all we can report for now... Stay tuned!

You mean your not going to release before its ready and then just patch it later? Isn't that the norm nowadays?

There will always be bugs that don't crop up until after the release, Saxon. And if you release a game that's ridden with bugs then it will suffer in reviews, which can hurt sales.

Ok I got a new one 8)

Will there be any form of 'mini-game/s' included in Eschalon?

By this I mean something like Pazaak in Kotor or something like the 'Illegal Brawling Rings' ive seen in numerous games (always entertaining  )

Oh, something like the boxing ring in Fallout 2 could be neat.

Nope...no mini games. Although I think it'd be cool, we just don't have the time to implement anything in this game.

Yeah, it is the sort of thing you have to plan ahead for, since whatever the rewards of the games are, will be used by the player. And if there is no reward at all, there's no point in taking the time to make the minigames.

I'm not a fan of mini-games, since they usually test my non-existent dexterity. The only sort of mini-game I would like in an RPG would be a card or gambling game that would allow you to win (or lose) money or prizes.

Same here. I actually really liked Pazzak in the KOTOR games, but loathed the turret games. A gambling game in an RPG is a wonderful addition for taverns.
