Which save game should I go with?
Which save game should I go with?
I'm playing the demo, and I reloaded on one of the chests in the starting village. My question is, which one should I go with? I'm playing as a ranger with divination, light armor, and short-bladed skills. I've attached a screenshot of what I used for the names of the saves. Right now I'm leaning towards the 2 lockpicks and leather hauberk (light armor AC2) so that I can have good armor to start. In most of the other saves I can't use the items, but I could sell them. What do you think would work best?

This early in a level one character, I would say go for the highest monetary value. Then get on over to Aridell and sell the stuff. While you are there talk to everyone around and pick up some quests to complete. I hope you enjoy your adventures.

Wow. Some people put way more effort into playing this game than I do!
Mind you, with that kind of preparation, perhaps you won't end up in those hilarious situations in which I seem to find myself from time to time, bereft of hit points and mana, and trying desperately to do-si-do an ever-increasingly numerous pack of beasts round small copses and ponds.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no, I'm gonna die this time, I'm so gonna- GAH! Thug raiding party! OK, this time I'm gonna die, really gonna die this time, really- GAH! Salamanders! Run away! Run away! Ohhhh no, really really gonna die this time, really really gonna die..."
Currently I'm supposed to be playing a stalwart Paladin, but discretion is the better part of valour, after all. And when discretion fails, a good pair of running boots never goes amiss.

Personally if you don't already have the alchemy skill, I'd go with the alchemy book. Alchemy becomes very useful later on. (Of course others might advise on ways to maximise alchemy with the fewest skill points, but in my oppinion it's less important than having it in the first place. ) Also save items (which you probably won't find for a while) that boost alchemy.
Honestly though at this point in the game it really doesn't matter, all you need to do is master surviving enemy attacks.
