Lands Of Lore

Post by Rune_74 »

So...I started this game up the other day on dos box since I remember it from awhile back. Its quite a well done game. I don't like the fact that you don't create your main guy. However, I find the game propels you forward at a nice pace. It still looks quite good for its age as well.

It would be great if a indie company was thinking of making a game like this and had a look at this one;)

I think it does alot well, maybe a little on the simplistic side but I think its a very good base game.

LoL was a great game. Anything Westwood Studios made during the late 80's to the mid 90's was pretty much a guaranteed hit (they were like the "Blizzard" of that era). I haven't played LoL for a while but I still have the MIDI music that I occasionally play when I am working.

Yeah its a great game, I think it what makes it great is that they really tied everything together. It just felt like everything was there for a reason and the design was strict on what they wanted to accomplish.

Still think a game in this vein, maybe in another setting would be awesome.

Yes, I seem to remember it was good fun. I also seem to remember enjoying LoL2, although it was a very different game. It had its share of glitches, but for the time I thought it was reasonably innovative - it was fairly non-linear (in parts), and the transformation into different creatures added a nice bit of depth from time to time.
